Dr. David Moser is a theologian whose research interests include medieval scholastic theology, the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas, the doctrines of the Trinity, Christology, and sacramental theology, particularly the Eucharist.
His book, The Humanity of Christ as Instrument of Salvation: A Study in Thomistic Christology (Cambridge University Press, 2025), explores St. Thomas’s teaching that Christ’s humanity functions as an “instrument of the divinity.” The book is a revision of his dissertation completed under the direction of Dr. Bruce Marshall at Southern Methodist University, which received honorable mention in the Academy of Catholic Theology’s Dissertation Prize competition in 2024.
Dr. Moser has published widely in peer-reviewed journals such as the International Journal of Systematic Theology, Pro Ecclesia, the Scottish Journal of Theology, and the Heythrop Journal. His next book examines the Catholic understanding of the Eucharist as a sacrifice. Before joining the faculty of the Augustine Institute, he taught at the undergraduate level for four years and served as Managing Editor of the International Journal of Systematic Theology.
