Marica Frank is a native of South Africa where she completed her undergraduate degree, majoring in Classics. She then studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland from which she obtained an MLitt. in Greek and a PhD. in Latin. A revised version of her doctoral thesis was published by Brill under the title, Seneca's Phoenissae: Introduction and Commentary. Her main area of research is in Greek and Roman tragedy. She taught in the Department of Classics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg before coming to Denver with her husband (a Byzantine Catholic priest) and three sons in 1999. Since that time she has been a full-time faculty member at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary.
