The Curriculum for the Youth Ministry
Formation Curriculum is based on the US Bishops' guidelines for Lay Ecclesial Minister formation as outlined in their document, Co-Workers in the Vineyard. These guidelines view formation for ministry in a four-fold structure: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral. The ImpactCenter Youth Ministry Formation Curriculum focuses on the Intellectual and Pastoral Categories of these guidelines, offering a service to Dioceses and individual Youth Ministers.
The Goals:
Intellectual Formation: To establish for participants the framework of catechetical principles and the content of the faith provided by the Church as the driving force behind all methods of evangelization and catechesis. Pastoral Formation: To expose the participants to the key methodological principles of evan gelization and catechesis for greater effectiveness and functioning in the ministry setting. Personal Spirituality: To root in the participants in personal prayer and the Sacramental life of the Chirch as the sure foundation for the active life of ministry - Interiority for mission. Reflection: To provide opportunities for the participants to reflect upon what they are learning and apply new principles and methods to their current ministry setting.
