Prerequisites

The Augustine Institute announces two new prerequisite requirements:

THEO 500: Introduction to Graduate Study of Catholic Theology (2 credit hrs) This introductory course has several aims.  It seeks to help students understand how Catholic doctrine coheres with the story of salvation.  This course will also familiarize students with the major developments in the history of theology and introduce them to the major theological thinkers.  In addition, the lectures and readings encourage students both to approach theology in a prayerful manner  and to apply  theology in a catechetical context.  Finally, a considerable portion of this course is devoted to learning the skills necessary to study theology effectively and write academic papers correctly.

PHIL 500: Introduction to Philosophy (2 credit hrs) This course provides an introduction to the methodology and major themes of philosophy, such as logic, anthropology, metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics.
